Part Time Orthodontic Records Tech/Scribe

Job Summary:

The Records Technician plays a key role in supporting clinical operations within the orthodontic office. This position is responsible for capturing accurate diagnostic records, including digital x-rays and photographs of patients before and after treatment. The Records Technician also serves as a clinical scribe, documenting the orthodontist’s findings and treatment plans during exams. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Take high-quality digital x-rays and intraoral/extraoral photographs.
Ensure proper positioning of patients and use of protective equipment during imaging procedures.
Upload and organize patient records, x-rays, and photos in the orthodontic software system.
Maintain imaging equipment and report any issues promptly.
Serve as a clinical scribe by accurately recording exam findings, chart notes, and treatment recommendations during patient visits. Present the contract to the patient and answer questions about the process that patients or family members may have
Collaborate with orthodontic assistants and front office staff to support workflow and scheduling.
Assist in sterilization and room preparation when needed.
Experience

Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills is required. This person will be meeting with each consultation and answering questions for new patients prior to them beginning their braces treatment.
This is a great part time position for anyone interested in gaining experience in the dental field. We are willing to train the right person but experience or classes on a pre-med or pre-dental track is encouraged.
