Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
First +0-120 Days
• Ability to articulate your understanding of the current VMware landscape and culture so you can drive needed changes from within, with a healthy respect for where we are today (and how we arrived here).
• Establish the trust and partnership of our ER and the broader HR team, our stakeholders and the businesses in particular APJ. Build your alignment with and commitment to a shared vision and future for ER at VMware.
• Participate / contribute to critical initiatives / projects.
• Understand the current APJ ER team, VMware operating model, structure and resourcing and share on what alignments will further drive the us towards realizing the vision. Included in this work will be clarification and alignment of the “seams” between ER in APJ and other stakeholder groups, including roles, responsibilities and handoffs.
First 120/180 Days
• Identify trends and/or capability gaps that allow proactive solutions and capability building that reduce traditional ER case management challenges, in partnership with key stakeholders across HR, Legal, Compliance, and the Business.
• Contribute / Establish / Refine reporting and analysis capability for all work flowing through the ER team.
• Identify areas of risk and opportunity and develop/lead initiatives to drive improvement and measurable change.
• Assess employee centered processes to identify prioritized opportunities for scaling, clarity, consistency, and improved employee experience.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Leverage your subject matter expertise in performance and conflict management, employment matters, investigations and risk assessment, etc.
Areas of responsibility include:
Provide day-to-day guidance to HR professionals and serve as a primary point of contact for clients and lines of business.
Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance regarding company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training.
Identify opportunities to influence and positively impact the employee experience at VMware by:
• Conducting investigations that tend to be complex, have significant risk or have high visibility and be able to write up the results of the investigation that may be used in a court of law or formal proceedings.
• Drive continuous improvement on how investigations are managed.
• Reviewing relevant policies and training.
• Advise and consult with HR, business leaders, and employment counsel on position eliminations, and policy interpretation.
• Consult with HR, Legal (Employment Law, Ethics Compliance) and other stakeholders to deliver seamless support.
• Conducting sensitive investigations.
• Analyse ER data/metrics for trends, gaps, and root cause identification.
• Assist with advancing ER initiatives as directed.
• Guide and train managers in overall performance management concepts in alignment with company philosophy, practices, and processes.
• Participate and/or lead projects outside of APJ
