Job Description

Catamount Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting kids to the outdoors through engaging environmental education and outdoor adventure programs. For nearly 30 years, we have inspired curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong connection to nature for youth across the Pikes Peak Region.
Summary: The Part-Time Development & Communications Coordinator supports fundraising, donor engagement, outreach, and organizational communications. This position will work closely with the Executive Director to help build and strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters through outreach, communications, event support, and storytelling.

Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities):

Development, Donor Relations, & Outreach

Assist the Executive Director with donor outreach and relationship management.
Help identify, coordinate, and schedule meetings with potential donors, sponsors, and community partners.
Assist with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship outreach, and annual giving efforts
Maintain accurate donor and outreach records within the organization’s CRM system.
Help prepare donor meeting materials, presentations, and follow-up communications.
Support planning and coordination of fundraising and community events.
Assist with grant tracking, reporting support, and development administration.
Communications & Marketing

Assist with creating and scheduling social media and marketing content.
Develop newsletters, email communications, flyers, and promotional materials.
Support website updates and program/event promotion.
Capture and organize photos, stories, and impact highlights from programs and events.
Help ensure branding consistency across communications materials.
Assist with storytelling efforts that highlight organizational impact and mission alignment.
Administrative & Team Support

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with extensive use of a computer, phone, copier, scanner, and other standard office equipment.
The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and working on a computer for communications, donor outreach, marketing, and administrative tasks.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and move materials or event supplies.
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 20–25 pounds.
May require occasional local travel for meetings, donor outreach, events, or organizational support.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support fundraising events or community engagement activities.
The position is part-time with a flexible schedule, generally during regular business hours.
Work may involve handling confidential donors, financial, and organizational information requiring professionalism and discretion.
Required Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Experience with fundraising, donor relations, communications, and/or marketing.
Skills: Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy with donor information, communications, and event coordination.
Communication: Professional written and verbal communication skills with donors, partners, families, and staff.
Relationship Building: Comfortable with outreach, scheduling meetings, and building community relationships.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and assist with occasional events or evening needs.
Preferred Qualifications

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, or related field.
Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
Experience with Canva, social media platforms, and email marketing tools.
Experience with donor databases/CRMs, such as Bloomerang.
Experience supporting events, sponsorships, or fundraising campaigns.
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay: $21 per hour, 20 hours per week
