POSITION TITLE: Parks Personnel I
DEPARTMENT: Operations
HOURS OF WORK: Full-time / Seasonal
POSTING DATE: Friday, May 30, 2026
CLOSING DATE: 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2026
HOURLY RATE: $36.01
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Reporting to the Parks Lead Hand (and Director of Operations), Parks Personnel perform a variety of labour and maintenance functions for Town parks and boulevards and generally assist in other Operational areas. This is a seasonal position from Spring 2026 – Fall 2026 (exact dates dependant on organizational and employee needs).
QUALIFICATIONS:
One (1) year experience landscaping or grounds keeping;
High school graduation;
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
Level 1 First Aid;
WHMIS;
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
Chainsaw safety is considered an asset.
PERKS AND BENEFITS:
The Town of Smithers offers seasonal employees the option to either enroll in the Town’s Health and Welfare program or receive sixteen percent (16%) pay in lieu of benefits.
