Job Description
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor and/or Assistant Transportation Supervisor
Position Overview
Parking Attendants are part of the Transportation team. They are responsible for ensuring vehicles in all areas are parked as efficiently as possible, maintaining a smooth and orderly flow of traffic coming to & leaving from the ski area, and maintaining all parking risk management signage. They are responsible for general cleanliness/safety of outdoor public areas around the lower chalet and in our parking lots, and for daily collection and disposal of garbage/recycling in the lower chalet area and in parking lots. Parking Attendants are also responsible for the daily town run and require a valid Class 5 Alberta driving license (or equivalent).
The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal role, 5 days out of 7 per week from November through to May each operating season. Please note that you may not receive full-time hours at the beginning/ end of the season and during other slow periods.
Alberta Employment Standards regarding a ninety-day probationary period applies.
Job duties/ Responsibilities:
Ensure vehicles in all areas are parked as efficiently as possible
Ensure a smooth and orderly flow of traffic coming up to and leaving the ski area
Ensure parking and roadway signs are current and located as required
Assist with & document any snow removal for the upper & lower chalet public areas
Handle daily garbage collection and disposal
Ensure Lower Chalet plaza area is clean, remove snow and garbage, sweep and sand/salt
Ensure only vehicles with parking passes are parked in the VIP area
Recording daily vehicle count
Responsible for the daily town run
Report all damage or problems with company vehicles to the Transportation Supervisor
Working in a safe efficient manner
Courteous cooperation with other staff members, assist other departments as required
Assist in emergency situations
Any other duties as assigned
Adherence to the company’s practices and procedures as set in the ‘Transportation Training Manual’
All Marmot Basin employees will conduct themselves in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their job
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older
Must possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude
Enjoy interacting with the public
Enjoy working outdoors in the winter
Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or better) in good standing (3 years preferred)

Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons
Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for sometimes highly stressful situations
Strong team member able to take direction
Motivated and observant; able to perceive needed tasks and complete them without direction
Self-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and training
Able to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solve
Qualifications:
Ski Industry experience (an asset)
Previous customer service experience (an asset)
Physically fit
Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
