About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Blaster/Painter with a trade qualification and hands-on experience in abrasive blasting and protective coating applications. The role involves reading job specifications, preparing and coating fabricated components, operating blast and paint equipment, and ensuring quality control compliance. Candidates must possess a forklift licence, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and accurate timekeeping is essential. Crane operation experience and a thorough understanding of industry safety practices are desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret job cards, work orders, and schedules to follow job specifications.
Set up and operate blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare surfaces and apply protective coatings as per standards and data sheets.
Perform touch-ups and rework on components as required.
Identify and report equipment faults or defective materials.
Operate overhead crane and forklift to move steel and components.
Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment, and tools.
Assist with general site works and other duties as directed.
Skills and Experience

Trade qualification in blasting / painting;
Knowledge of standard practices and methods of the abrasive blasting and painting trade;
Proven experience using reliable, safe work practices;
Forklift licence.
Motivated and willingness to undertake any additional training;
Crane operating skills and experience (Desirable)
Possess considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of blast and paint trade.
