We're Looking For:
• 5–7 years of experience in Packaging Development, Packaging Innovation, Packaging Material Procurement, or a combination of both
• Experience from FMCG, Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, Personal Care, Home Care, Packaging Manufacturing, or similar industries
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials including:
• Flexible Films
• Corrugated Packaging
• Rigid Plastics
• Glass Packaging
• Labels
• Cartons
• Closures
• Laminates
• Packaging Substrates
• Understanding of:
• Packaging Specifications
• GSM & Micron
• Barrier Properties
• BOM Management
• Print Technologies (Flexo, Gravure & Offset)
• Strong experience in:
• Vendor Development
• Supplier Qualification
• Strategic Sourcing
• Commercial Negotiation
• Cost Optimization
• Cost Saving Initiatives
• Procurement Planning
• Cross-functional Project Management
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Advanced Excel, reporting, vendor scorecards, and procurement tracking
What You'll Be Doing:
• Lead end-to-end packaging development projects (concept, design brief, prototyping, vendor sampling, validation, and launch)
• Drive packaging innovation by evaluating new materials, sustainable packaging solutions, and alternate substrates
• Coordinate closely with Marketing, Design, Production, QA, and suppliers to ensure timely project execution
• Manage packaging specifications, approvals, documentation, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Lead sourcing and procurement of all packaging materials while ensuring commercial competitiveness
• Develop, qualify, and onboard new suppliers while building alternate vendor networks for critical packaging materials
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment cycles, and deliver measurable year-on-year cost savings
• Track purchase orders, supplier performance, On-Time Delivery (OTD), incoming quality, and corrective actions
• Drive procurement planning to minimize emergency purchases and improve supply continuity.
Qualification:
• Diploma / PG Diploma in Packaging (IIP) preferred
OR
• B.E./B.Tech in Packaging, Polymer Science, Mechanical, Print Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
