Job Description
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping customers, isn't afraid of hard work, and is just as comfortable leaning on a farm gate talking all things rural as they are rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck into the yard.
At Goldpine, this role is about both people and practical work. One minute you could be helping a customer work out what they need for a fencing or outdoor project, and the next you'll be outside preparing their order, loading timber or helping unload stock.
Relationships matter to us. Our customers rely on us for advice just as much as they do our products, so we're looking for someone who enjoys building connections, solving problems and helping people find the right solution for their project.

About the Role
We're looking for our next Outdoor Timber Specialist to join our team at 39 Kawakawa Road, Feilding.
This is a varied role combining customer service and sales with practical yard work, so you'll spend your time helping customers find the right solution as well as getting stuck in outside preparing orders and looking after stock.
You'll:
Build strong relationships with our rural, trade and DIY customers
Help customers choose the right products for their projects
Prepare quotes and process sales
Promote Goldpine products and solutions with confidence
Prepare, pick and load customer orders in the yard
Unload deliveries and help put stock away
Operate forklifts and loaders (experience is an advantage, however training can be provided)
Help maintain stock, displays and merchandising
Keep the store and yard safe, tidy and well presented
Pitch in wherever needed as part of a small, hardworking team
You'll be moving regularly between helping customers and practical yard duties, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys both sides of the role.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm, with Saturday mornings worked on a roster.
What we're looking for
You don't need previous timber industry experience — we can teach you that. What matters most is that you:
Enjoy building relationships and providing outstanding customer service
Have confidence talking with customers and finding solutions that meet their needs
Are comfortable with practical, hands-on work and working outdoors
Have an interest in farming, rural communities or outdoor projects
Are reliable, motivated and willing to learn
Can safely undertake physical work and manual lifting when required
Hold a full New Zealand Driver Licence
Experience in retail sales, customer service, farming, building supplies, rural merchandise, forklifts or machinery would be an advantage, but is not essential.
