Job Description:
Gleneagles Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outpatient Incharge to oversee patient care in our outpatient department. In this role, you will ensure smooth operation of the outpatient services, assist patients with their healthcare needs, and work closely with the medical team to provide high-quality care to our patients. You will play a key role in patient management, offering both physical and emotional support.
Responsibilities:
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Monitor and document vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
• Assist with feeding, hydration, and track patients' food and fluid intake.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Support healthcare professionals during medical procedures such as catheterization or wound care.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
• Document all patient care activities and report changes in patient condition to healthcare professionals.
• Assist with transporting patients within the hospital.
• Respond to patient requests and communicate patient needs to the healthcare team.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Patient Care Certification or Training preferred).
• Prior experience as a Patient Care Attendant or similar role in a hospital setting.
• Ability to assist patients with daily living activities and medical procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit with the ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting and transfers.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is an added advantage.
