Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Commercial Driver and take on the exciting challenge of transporting freight across long distances while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. As an OTR driver, you’ll be the backbone of our logistics network, connecting businesses and communities through your expert driving skills and dedication. We prioritize safety, professionalism, and a positive driving experience for all team members.
Responsibilities
Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks across OTR routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with route driving protocols.
Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and any incidents in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Skills
Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road routes and delivery driving.
Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight.
Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning across long distances.
Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance and load securement.
