Full job description
Are you a qualified educator looking for a rewarding modern OSHC role with lots of opportunities?
We are seeking a qualified, well-organised, motivated and responsible Coordinator to manage the operation of our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service licenced for 121 children, providing before school, after school and vacation care services.
Located at the spacious and sought after Holy Family Primary School, Kids Biz OSHC is a private service that approaches childcare in a whole new way. We are passionate, dedicated and provide a collaborative environment where new ideas are welcomed and supported. Our unique and innovative centre is well resourced (with incredible resourcing of term activity, major activity and maintenance budgets) and has an abundance of equipment that is continually updated.
The permanent Coordinator position is for 30-38 hours a week (with lots of flexibility around hours and opportunities for advancement). You will be supported by, and work closely with, the Kids Biz General Manager to deliver outcomes in all aspects of the OSHC.
You will be working alongside experienced OSHC professionals who are there to support and guide your practice within an open and consultative leadership approach. You will be rewarded with an attractive annual salary of over $100,000+ with the Educational Leader and split shift allowances available.
In this position you will be responsible for the service during the operational hours, completing tasks that include:
Managing the day to day operations of the service
Liaising with parents and other family members
Leading the OSHC staffing team
Program planning
Ensuring the Service at all times operates in compliance with Child Care Act and Regulations, National Quality Framework and My time Our Place and the Service's own policies and procedures.
Kids Biz has a very low staff turn-over and rarely advertises for management staff, we now have a rare and exciting opportunity available. We support our team to provide children with tremendous opportunities to participate in a diverse range of activities not usually available in standard OSHC centres.
We provide a budget for new equipment and activities and have extensive existing resources including:
multiple jumping castles
quality sports equipment
3D printers
Virtual Reality Machines
extensive art & craft supplies
gymnastics equipment
pancake machines
Slip and slides
These and more are available for you to use in lesson planning to provide exciting and modern activities.
We take the Coordinator role seriously and provide learning and development opportunities, non-contact hours and a dedicated and fully equipped Coordinator's office to support you. If you are enthusiastic, flexible and have an outgoing personality we want you to join the Kids Biz team.
To join our team as a Coordinator you will need to have:
Qualifications recognised by ACECQA as meeting requirements for a first qualified educator (OSHC Diploma or Bachelor's degree with childcare experience will be highly regarded).
Current Working With Vulnerable People Card
Professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good understanding of the National Quality Framework and My time Our Place, Child Care Act and Regulations
Experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate programs
Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications (or be willing to obtain these)
A genuine commitment to supporting children and staff within your care
Availability to work 30- 38 hours per week Monday to Friday, with contact time during before and after school care periods
Ability to effectively supervise and organise a team of staff including written observations of and management of the performance of team members
Kids Biz OSHC is committed to continual improvement and creating a warm, friendly and inclusive atmosphere for children, our families and educators. If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can really contribute to creating a welcoming and active environment for children- this is the position for you!
