Job description
**Duties Responsibilities**:
- Providing assistance and support to the Traditional Healers, Elders and Medicine People, which includes: assisting with a range of traditional healing approaches such as fasting, sweat lodge, shake tent, sacred fire, naming ceremony, clan ceremony and pipe ceremonies
- Facilitating client access to the Traditional Healers and ceremonies, ensuring that protocols are understood and met, and that traditional medicines are gathered, prepared, identified and stored
- Coordinating access for community members, staff and Aboriginal youth to the learning experience of traditional healing approaches
- Coordinating the accommodation and travel requirements of the Traditional Healers, assisting with the compilation of a data base, program reports and submissions, and maintaining an efficient and secure filing system
• *Qualifications Experience**:
- Demonstrating a commitment, respect, understanding and knowledge of Traditional Healing
- A positive, professional, courteous and respectful manner with a desire to help people find their healing path
- A team player with a knowledge and understanding of the health needs of urban Aboriginal people
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of the culture, traditions, teachings, ceremonies and practices of Aboriginal people will be considered an asset
Pay: $41,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
