Orchard Manager - Schedule: 8 hours Hours: 30-40 hours/ week
Job Description
Key duties: include planning, managing daily operations (pruning, spraying, irrigation), recruiting and training staff, handling, maintaining, and purchasing machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Devising and implementing new production strategies
Hiring, training, and managing general staff
Setting productivity goals
Monitoring market activity and planning the production to meet the contract requirements and market demand.
Organising the sale, purchase and dispatch of the produce.
Researching new regulations and industry standards and adjusting processes as needed Monitoring the irrigation system. Researching new pesticides and fertilisation techniques Inspecting and maintaining all orchard equipment
Prepare and manage budgets and other financial documentation
Working with leaders to implement new projects and policies
Communicating with clients and vendors to ensure that everyone receives timely updates Enforce health and safety regulations and procedures. Be involved in research projects such as trialling new varieties
Experience and Attributes:
A minimum of 2 year of experience working in an orchard, or Qualifications level 4 or above.
Great communication and customer service skills, including being able to interact with visitors from around the world
A positive, punctual and professional approach.
Common sense with a fast paced nature
Excellent attention to detail, a positive ‘can do’ attitude with an enthusiastic personality Work well under pressure
The ability to be able to delegate tasks and manage staff on a daily basis in order to get the best performance from the team Self-belief, strength, humility, and ambition

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hours

Weekend availability: Must be able to work on weekends, if required.
