Roles & Responsibilities - Senior Database Administrator
• Certification and experience on Oracle Exadata DB administration is mandate
• Managing and administering Oracle RAC and Standby database.
• Comply with the security and PCI compliance of database security standards.
• Experience in architecting the Oracle datacenter and support
• Configuration control and management for project deliverables including new database installation and setup.
• Golden gate replication.
• Configuration and performance tuning of “On-Premise Private Cloud”.
• Take care of Oracle Quarterly and one-off patching activities.
• Database refresh using various methods.
• Oracle enterprise manager configuration and maintenance.
• Monitoring database and configuring the database with monitoring tool.
• User creation and user profile administration.
• Interact and work with application team to provide required database support.
• Good at DB Automation
Activities in Detail
• RAC (Backup configuration, Node Isolation)
• Performance tuning (long running/hanged sessions, stats gathering)
• Data guard: DR Drill (Data guard Switchover)
• DG Architecture Standby Recreation Standby Duplicate Standby database non-sync (Including RAC) – Checking the number of missing logs - Checking MRP process which applies the redo data in to standby database.
• Recovery Manager and Backup: Refresh databases using RMAN and User Managed Backup
• Performing tape level Backup and Recovery using RMAN.
• Recovery catalogue register/unregister
• Data Pump: Export/Import of Tables, Table spaces and Full Databases. Schema Refresh using Exp/Imp Utility Taking logical backups of table segments having more no of records using exp and data pump utilities.
• Remap Schema Other Daily Activities: Managing Table spaces, data files, and user’s creation.
• Data Refresh Schema and Database as per requirement using data pump.
• Database migration.
• Oracle Agent upgrade from 10g to 11g, 12c, 1+C and OEM grid configuration.
• Adding data disks to an ASM disk group. OEM configuration User and application connectivity issues.
• Configuration of manual housekeeping jobs and backup using cron job.
• User creation and Granting the necessary roles, privileges and profiles to the users.
• Monitoring the Inactive user session and killing them if required, Table lock issue handling
