Okta Engineer

Design, develop, and maintain complex Okta Workflows for:

• User lifecycle management (Joiner / Mover / Leaver)

• Automated provisioning & deprovisioning

• Role-based and attribute-based access assignments

• Approval-based access workflows

• Integrate Okta Workflows with:

• HR systems (Workday, SuccessFactors, BambooHR, etc.)

• ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira)

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• SaaS applications (O365, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, etc.)

• Build custom connectors using API connectors, OAuth, and REST endpoints.

• Implement error handling, retries, logging, and monitoring within workflows.

• Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Document workflows and hand over operational runbooks.

Okta Platform & IAM

• Configure and manage Okta Workforce Identity Cloud:

• Universal Directory

• Lifecycle Management

• SSO (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0)

• MFA and adaptive authentication

• Collaborate on identity architecture and automation strategy.

• Support identity governance initiatives using workflow-driven automation.

• Perform L3/L4 troubleshooting for workflow and provisioning issues.

• Ensure compliance with security standards and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Strong hands-on experience with Okta Workflows (advanced flows, branching, conditions, API calls)

• Solid understanding of IAM concepts (SSO, MFA, provisioning, RBAC, ABAC)

• Experience integrating Okta with HR, ITSM, and SaaS applications

• REST API expertise (JSON, OAuth, HTTP methods)

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
