Title: Oil Lab Technician

Location: Nottingham

We have an exciting opportunity for an Oil Lab Technician to join our team in Nottingham, As part of the RS Oil Testing laboratory services team, you will perform time critical analytical testing in accordance with specified standards and in accordance with the company’s accreditations and approvals.

The oil analysis laboratory offers oil, fluid testing and specialist analytical services to customers across the world, providing insight into the condition of the machines from which the samples have been taken. A range of analytical techniques are used to monitor and assess fluid condition and chemistry, as well as troubleshooting issues as they develop and providing root cause analysis of specialist samples.

What you will be doing:
• Work as part of the team, utilising analytical test and measurement equipment to exact requirements in accordance with the necessary accreditations and standards (ISO 9001, 14001 and so forth).
• Display the required level of productivity required to ensure that service levels to our customers are met, to enable items to be despatched within the departments published turnaround times.
• Support the department with administration tasks and material handling when necessary.
• Work to methodologies in line with best practices.

If you have the following skills and experience, we want to hear from you:
• A passion for science and/or engineering.
• Customer focused
• Great collaborative worker.
• Ability to prioritise assigned tasks effectively.
• Evidence of working effectively with others
• Degree/ City Guilds / ONC / BTEC in a relevant STEM field (or equivalent experience)
• Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
