OCT Certified Teacher – Math & English (KG–Grade 8) Strong Grades 6–8 Math Experience Required

Part-Time Evenings & Saturdays
Best Brains Cooksville is seeking an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) to join our growing academic team. This position involves teaching students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, with a strong emphasis on intermediate-level Math (Grades 6–8).
We are an after-school academic enrichment center focused on strengthening fundamentals, improving problem-solving ability, and building student confidence through structured instruction.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will:
Teach Math and English to students across elementary and middle school levels
Deliver confident and conceptually strong Math instruction to Grades 6–8
Guide students through multi-step problem solving, fractions, decimals, ratios, integers, and introductory algebra concepts
Support literacy development including grammar, reading comprehension, and structured writing
Maintain organized classroom routines in a small-group setting
Track student progress and communicate updates when required
All instructional materials and curriculum are provided. This position focuses on effective teaching and student engagement — no independent lesson planning is required.
Requirements
Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
Demonstrated experience teaching Math at the Grades 6–8 level
Clear understanding of Ontario curriculum expectations
Strong board work and ability to break down complex concepts
Professional demeanor and reliability
Ability to manage small groups with structure and clarity
Experience in an academic support or enrichment environment is considered an asset.
Schedule
Weekday evenings (between 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
Saturday shifts available
Consistent weekly hours
