Job Description
Job Title: Ocean Export Coordinator
Job Location: San Francisco, California
DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) is a leading logistics provider that expertly manages the flow of goods and information across diverse global supply chains. Our team is committed to providing exceptional air, ocean, and ground transportation, along with customs brokerage and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers.
As an Ocean Export Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless movement of our customers' ocean export shipments. You will serve as the primary point of contact, facilitating coordination between customer shipments and shipping carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate and confirm transport orders for timely shipment pickups at the origin.
• Execute bookings and optimize them based on internal guidelines.
• Prepare, control, and distribute all necessary export documentation to relevant parties while adhering to regulations and internal procedures.
• Review responses from counterparts and finalize document validation.
• Provide exemplary customer service and proactively follow up on shipment statuses in the export area, addressing any incidents and ensuring timely resolutions to exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers as needed.
• Be flexible and ready to take on additional tasks as required.
Skills / Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with strong preference for Ocean Exports.
• Solid understanding of Ocean Export regulations and documentation.
• Experience with the CargoWise system is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues related to product movement into the US.
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer service experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Pay Range: $24.23 - $32.31/hr. (Based on Experience)
