About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist within Adult Mental Health, you will work collaboratively with service users, whānau, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred assessment, treatment, and recovery-focused interventions.

Your role will involve supporting people with a range of mental health needs, promoting positive healthy lifestyle choices, meaningful engagement in daily activities, and assisting individuals to achieve their recovery goals within community settings.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE), Monday to Friday , 8.00AM to 4.30PM. The role is based in Blenheim at Wairau Hospital.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Adult Mental Health Service provides specialist assessment, treatment, and support for adults experiencing mental health conditions across the Marlborough region. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you'll work alongside Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and other allied health professionals committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care.

About you

As an Occupational Therapist within Adult Mental Health, you will:

Hold registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate;
Have direct experience working in mental health settings
A strong interest in mental health practice;
Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
Be passionate about recovery-focused, person-centred care;
Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
Hold a full New Zealand driver's licence.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
