Occasional Teacher – Kindergarten to Grade 6
The Village Schoolhouse is looking for caring, dependable supply teachers to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
Located in Hespeler Village in Cambridge, The Village Schoolhouse is a small alternative private school serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Our small class sizes allow teachers to build strong relationships with students and provide thoughtful, individualized support.
Our approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia and focuses on inquiry, creativity, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections. We are looking for supply teachers who can step comfortably into our classrooms and help maintain the warm, calm, and supportive environment our students are used to.
Responsibilities:
• Provide classroom coverage when a teacher is absent
• Follow the lesson plans, routines, and expectations provided
• Create a positive, engaging, and respectful classroom environment
• Support students with a range of learning styles and needs
• Use patient and effective classroom-management strategies
• Communicate clearly with teachers and school administration
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the day
