Position Overview
Crane Road Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Part-Time Nursing Manager to lead and coordinate the nursing team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the treatment room. This role is ideal for a senior nurse with strong general practice experience and demonstrated capability in treatment room management, clinical leadership, and quality improvement.
Previous experience in general practice nursing and treatment room management is essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Nursing Team Management
Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to practice nurses
Coordinate nursing rosters, leave planning, and workload allocation
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing competency development of nursing staff
Foster a collaborative, professional, and patient-centred nursing culture
Treatment Room & Clinical Operations
Oversee the efficient and safe operation of the treatment room
Ensure high standards of infection control, sterilisation, and cold chain management
Maintain clinical protocols, policies, and procedures in line with RACGP standards
Monitor clinical workflows to optimise patient care and efficiency
Clinical Care
Deliver high-quality nursing care including (but not limited to):
Immunisations
Wound management
Chronic disease management
Health assessments and care plans
Minor procedures and assisting GPs
Ensure accurate clinical documentation in patient records
Compliance, Quality & Accreditation
Lead and support ongoing RACGP accreditation requirements related to nursing and clinical services
Conduct audits (infection control, cold chain, clinical stock, treatment room processes)
Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards
Stock & Resource Management
Manage ordering, storage, and monitoring of clinical stock and consumables
Oversee vaccine management, including cold chain compliance
Ensure equipment maintenance, calibration, and safety checks
Communication & Collaboration
Work closely with GPs, Practice Manager, and administrative staff
Act as a key clinical point of contact within the practice
Support effective communication between clinical and non-clinical teams
Assist with patient feedback and incident management when required
Essential Selection Criteria
Registered Nurse (RN) with current AHPRA registration
Previous experience in general practice nursing – essential
Demonstrated experience managing a treatment room – essential
Strong knowledge of RACGP Standards and accreditation processes
Proven leadership and team coordination skills
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Competence with clinical software systems used in general practice
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in a Nursing Manager or Senior Practice Nurse role
Immunisation accreditation
Experience with chronic disease management programs
Understanding of Medicare items relevant to nursing services
Working Hours
Part-time hours (to be negotiated)
Flexibility to support practice needs and growth
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7.5 – 15 per week
