About the opportunity:
Position: Nurse Unit Manager (Demand Response Unit)
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary full-time, from 20.01.2025 up to 31/03/2025 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.
Location: Demand Response Unit, Medical Service Group, Townsville University Hospital
The pilot will seek to understand the impact the model of care will have on patient flow of both medical and surgical patients. The DRU is a Nurse Led 12 bed unit that will:



* provide transitional beds for patients waiting admission to an inpatient unit.
* provide transitional beds for patients waiting discharge from the Townsville University Hospital (TUH) and are not suitable for the Day of Discharge Unit (DDU) operate 12 hours per day, 7am -7pm Monday-Sunday.

* Salary range: $5081.10 to $5516.60 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
* Appointees will be required to work 12 hour shifts in accordance with the THHS 12 hour shift agreement. There is only one shift 0700hrs to 1+30hrs.
* This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
