Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with anesthesiologists and the regional block nurse team to provide comprehensive perioperative patient care.
Administer conscious sedation during regional block procedures.
Round on preoperative and postoperative regional anesthesia patients.
Order medications, including controlled substances and narcotics, as clinically appropriate.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments in a systematic manner, addressing physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive needs.
Provide patient and family education regarding perioperative care and treatment plans.
Consult with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals based on patient needs and assessment findings.
Assist anesthesiologists in performing preoperative surgical evaluations.
Review medical records, order appropriate diagnostic studies under established protocols, and ensure timely follow-up.
Maintain effective communication with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to promote continuity of care and operational efficiency.
Prioritize patient care while effectively managing multiple responsibilities throughout the day.
Adapt efficiently to various electronic medical record (EMR) systems utilized across different hospital facilities.
Maintain compliance with all hospital, state, and USAP policies and procedures while delivering safe, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
:
At least 1-2 years Nurse Practitioner experience
DEA required
Active Texas NP License
Completion of Master’s or Post Master’s Degree from an NP program that is accredited by the Commissions on the Collegiate of Nursing Education
