Unlock Impact is a women-led gender-smart firm that works across South and Southeast Asia. We bring together experience, knowledge and networks to help growing, purpose-driven enterprises deliver measurable impact. Our work exists along three verticals:
• Comms Ninja: A unique virtual model that brings women back into the workforce by placing them as comms specialists with impact organisations and startups throughout the world
• Nüshu Network: offers community, coaching and capital for women entrepreneurs in Asia who are looking to build and grow sustainable enterprises.
• Villgro Philippines: An award-winning gender-smart incubator that funds, mentors, and nurtures innovative startups addressing urgent social and climate issues through market-based models

Role overview: The Nüshu Network intern is proactively engaged in the implementation of Nüshu Network’s initiatives in India and South Asia. The intern will assist the Nüshu Network Lead in organising and delivering in-person events in India.

We seek diversity candidates, so women or individuals who identify as women are encouraged to apply. Candidates from marginalised backgrounds or communities based in Mumbai only are also encouraged to apply.

Location: Mumbai, India

Time period: 15 Sep to 31 Oct 2024 (six weeks)

How we work:
• Unlock Impact works virtually and you will be based in Mumbai and work virtually with the rest of the team.
• You are expected to have a laptop, required software, working internet connection and a phone, so you can schedule, lead and join meetings virtually.
• Working hours are flexible, we expect you to be the judge of your best productive hours. You may need to cover multiple time zones as needed.
• Unlock Impact offers a work environment that is committed to the wellbeing and support of our team members.

Compensation: Rs. 4000 per month (pro rata where applicable)

Role responsibilities skills required:

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Nüshu Network team to organise and deliver an in-person event entrepreneur networking event (WeMeet Mumbai) in Mumbai in Oct 2024
• Scout and finalise suitable location for networking gathering
• Identify and finalise vendors for food, gifts, printing
• Prepare event plan, slide deck, games
• Liaise with outreach and event partners to promote event
• Work with Nüshu Network Comms team to execute outreach plan to bring in at least 30 women entrepreneur attendees

Qualifications:
• Has experience in events; experience in community management a plus
• Good project management skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills; fluent in English
• Adept in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in Canva is highly desirable
• Purpose-driven and is both an independent worker and team player
• Open to learning from anyone, anywhere
