Job Description
Position Overview:
Currently, we are seeking a dependable and skilled Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for providing on-site support to clients when remote assistance is not possible. The ideal candidate should be technically proficient, detail-oriented, and capable of representing our company professionally in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Travel to client sites to assist with in-person service requests and troubleshooting
Evaluate and resolve hardware-related issues on desktops and laptops
Follow documented scopes of work for repair and installation tasks
Disassemble and reassemble computer systems for repairs or upgrades
Replace internal components such as batteries, hard drives, and memory modules
Perform diagnostic testing on systems that are not powering on or connecting to the internet
Set up or replace technology hardware, including desktop/laptop devices, printers, and peripherals
Troubleshoot and address basic networking issues involving routers, switches, and Ethernet jacks
Install or reinstall operating systems following company service documentation
Collaborate with internal team members when on-site feedback or escalation is needed
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a clean, presentable appearance when interfacing with clients
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of IT or field service experience
CompTIA A+ certification required (Network+ or higher preferred)
Working knowledge of PC and laptop hardware
Comfortable disassembling and repairing desktop and laptop systems
Basic understanding of networking concepts (switches, routers, cabling)
Familiarity with Windows operating systems and installation processes
Ability to follow technical documentation and service workflows
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team
Professional appearance and hygiene required
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
Experience with documentation or ticketing systems
Exposure to Mac systems or mobile device troubleshooting
Familiarity with managed service environments
Requirements:
Must pass a background check, drug screening, and credit check
Candidates with a criminal history will not be considered
Additional Information:
This role primarily involves responding to service calls where devices are offline, non-functional, or need physical installation or replacement.
A detailed scope of work is often provided, but you should be able to assess and report findings independently.
You will often serve as the on-site point of contact, providing feedback to the internal team as needed to complete service delivery.
