Job Description
Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Downer Professional Services is Australia’s multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and Government.
We currently have an opportunity for a Network Engineer JP9101 in Canberra, ACT to work on secure Defence communications and network engineering projects.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Perform network engineering activities across voice, video and data systems, including converged communications environments
Support the design, integration and assurance of secure Defence LAN, WAN and communications network architectures
Conduct network and communications requirements analysis and ensure traceability to system-level capability needs
Review and develop network engineering documentation and artefacts in accordance with Defence and IC3SPO standards
Provide specialist technical input to stakeholders and contractor deliverables across the project lifecycle
What You'll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related discipline
Chartered Professional Engineer status (or the ability to attain chartership) with a recognised professional body
Demonstrated experience in Defence or secure communications and network engineering environments
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
Experience working with Defence engineering frameworks, including the ASDEFCON Suite
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
