MYP Math Teacher - Part time
Crescent Heights Academy is a non-denominational independent school in Surrey, BC. Our aim is to provide students with a challenging academic education, emphasizing critical and compassionate thinking and a life-long love of learning. Job Description- Part Time MYP Math Teacher
Commences September 2026
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with others to plan and deliver programming using the MYP framework
Design and facilitate learning experiences and engagements that inspire, engage, motive, and challenge learners
Develop a caring classroom environment with positive relationships at the core
Monitor, guide, give feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies
Communicate effectively and regularly with colleagues, students, and their families
Attend and participate in school functions, events and professional development
Supervise students at recess and/or lunch breaks
Lead after school co-curricular activities/coach athletics teams
Attend and help supervise overnight outdoor education excursions
Additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of School and as outlined in our Staff Handbook
Be a contributor within the Crescent Heights Academy community
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Education
Hold a valid BC teaching certificate
IB Training is considered an asset
Experience teaching in a middle/ senior school setting
Passion and commitment to inquiry-based and concept driven instruction
Canadian resident and be legally entitled to work in Canada
First Aid Certificate
Strong classroom management skills
Collaborative team member
Effective communication skills
A self-starter, someone who sees a need, and strives for solutions
This position is part- time, but can be augmented to provide full time hours. Only those candidates shortlisted will be contacted.
