Lead Mental Health Care for Older Adults - Multiclass Position OPMH Community Team
Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Advanced Nurse Unit Manager leading the Older Persons Mental Health Community Team at Flinders Medical Centre. This full-time contract position until April 2027 offers the chance to guide specialised community mental health services for older adults across Adelaide Metro Southern. About the role:
Reporting to the Nursing Director, some of your duties for the role will include:
Provides leadership and direction, acts as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person
Leads changes to models of care
Participate in workgroups/programs for patient/client outcomes that extend beyond the unit/service/workplace
Actively contributing to the identification and development of continuous improvement strategies for the service
Promoting and establishing consumer, family and carer participation in strategies for service delivery and policy development
Developing strong relationships and communicating proactively with a range of external and internal stakeholders
About you:
Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice
Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy working independently and collaboratively within the heath care team
An understanding of and ability to manage within an allocated budget
Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be self-motivated, resourceful and innovative
Experience in working with a range of government and non-government agencies
This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a RNM4, AHP4 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
