Motion Designer
Job Description
This role sits at the intersection of product experience, delight expression, and performance storytelling .
Key Responsibilities
• Design and produce motion and animation for product experiences across app and web (micro-interactions, transitions, loaders, empty states, onboarding flows)
• Collaborate with Product Designers and the Head of Product Design to define motion principles and interaction patterns aligned with the design system
• Create motion assets for product launches, feature explainers, and in-app storytelling
• Support Brand and Marketing teams with product-led motion assets for campaigns and performance creatives
• Translate UX flows, wireframes, and static designs into smooth, purposeful motion
• Ensure motion enhances clarity, usability, and emotional engagement , not just visual appeal
• Maintain consistency with Licious’ design system, accessibility standards, and performance constraints
• Iterate quickly based on feedback from design, product, and leadership stakeholders
Requirements & Skills
• 2–3 years of experience as a Motion Designer / Motion Graphics Designer , preferably in a product-led or digital-first company
• Strong expertise in After Effects
• Working knowledge of Figma , Illustrator , Photoshop , and Premiere Pro
• Solid understanding of interaction design, motion principles, timing, easing, and hierarchy
• Experience designing motion for mobile apps and web products
• Ability to collaborate closely with designers, PMs, and developers
• Strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating product motion, micro-interactions, or digital storytelling
Must Have
• Experience with Lottie / JSON-based animations
• Familiarity with design systems and component-based design
• Understanding of performance constraints and handoff to engineering
• Knowledge of AI for faster concept creation and demonstration
• Good to have basic knowledge of 3D motion (Cinema 4D / Blender)
