The Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic / Examiner who is ready for the next step in their career. Your role will entail carrying out Mobile Roadworthy / Safety Certificates, Pre-Purchase Inspections, Servicing & Repairs on Light Vehicles, Motorcycles, Trailers, Caravans and Trucks (depending on relevant licences and qualifications).
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates, or detailing work required to achieve roadworthiness
Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and mechanical components
Using diagnostic equipment and computer-assisted testing tools to identify faults
Testing and adjusting mechanical components after repair to ensure proper performance
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspecting parts
Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as required
Performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups to ensure smooth vehicle operation and compliance with regulations
Requirements & Qualities We Look For
Australian Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Diesel Mechanic
No criminal history
Minimum 1 year post-qualification work experience
Bonus qualifications/skills: HVRAS, Gas certificates, Mod Plates, Air Conditioning Regas, Motorbike licence etc.
Open driver’s licence
Willingness to obtain an Approved Examiners Licence (support provided)
