Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Developer
Job Description
As a Senior Data Engineer (Full Stack) at ValueMomentum, your primary focus will be on building trustworthy and well-governed data products to drive insights that influence underwriting, claims, and operations. You will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid model, spending 4 days in the office, and you should have 5 to 8 years of experience in the field.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and lakehouse structures within Microsoft Fabric.
- Modeling and publishing curated, analysis-ready datasets and semantic models in Power BI to illuminate key insurance metrics.
- Proactively producing automated analytic solutions and integrating AI/ML capabilities into data products to drive business value.
- Partnering directly with business leaders to translate complex questions into documented requirements and actionable data solutions.
- Following platform standards, optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency within the Azure/Fabric ecosystem.
- Implementing documentation standards, governance, and data quality controls across all datasets.
- Using Azure DevOps (ADO) for version control and release pipelines to harden delivery and improve repeatability.
- Documenting technical architecture and workflows with clear diagrams and runbooks to reduce operational risk.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Deep proficiency in Microsoft Fabric
- Expertise in Power BI for developing complex semantic models and intuitive dashboards
- Advanced SQL and Python skills for data manipulation and AI integration
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and modern CI/CD practices
- Experience with cloud platforms, primarily Azure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical products
It would be good to have experience with big data technologies such as Spark or Databricks, knowledge of data security and compliance requirements in the insurance industry, and familiarity with programming languages like Scala.
