Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Medico-Social Worker to join our team at St. John's Medical College Hospital in Bengaluru. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and social support to patients and their families who are facing medical challenges. Your expertise in social work will help bridge the gap between medical care and holistic patient care, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need beyond just medical treatment.

Responsibilities:
• Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and their families.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with medical professionals.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families, helping them cope with the impact of illness or injury.
• Connect patients with community resources, support groups, and other services to address their social and practical needs.
• Advocate for patients' rights and facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain detailed and confidential records of patient interactions and interventions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field from a recognized institution.
• 1-3 years of experience in social work or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathetically engage with patients and families.
• Knowledge of community resources and support services available to patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
