We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in Plumbing and Fire Fighting Systems within the MEP domain. The candidate will play a critical role in planning, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical services especially plumbing and fire protection systems to ensure high standards of performance, safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness in our building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
???? Plumbing Systems:
• Design and review layouts for domestic water supply, drainage, sewage, and stormwater systems.
• Select appropriate pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures based on building requirements.
• Calculate water demand, pipe sizing, and pressure loss to ensure system efficiency and compliance.
• Ensure plumbing designs meet local codes, standards (e.g., NBC, UPC), and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with civil and architectural teams for service integration and space allocation.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and on-site plumbing execution.
???? Fire Fighting Systems:
• Develop and review the design and layout of fire protection systems including sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, and fire water storage tanks.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for sizing of pipelines and pump selection.
• Ensure systems comply with relevant fire safety codes (e.g., NBC, NFPA, IS standards).
• Recommend fire-fighting equipment type, size, and placement for optimal coverage and safety.
• Collaborate with fire consultants, vendors, and authorities to get approvals and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Plumbing and Fire Fighting Systems within the MEP/Construction industry.
• Strong understanding of MEP design principles, codes, and construction techniques.
