The Mechanical Design Engineer II within the Seeding Platform will work independently and within a team. Under senior engineering guidance, this role involves designing new products, improving existing ones, and managing small to medium-sized projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures high-quality designs and timely project completion. The engineer will also perform design analysis on components and assemblies, ensuring cost-efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability. Hands-on development and validation of designs are key to success in this role.
Design, develop and support the integration of vehicle components and/or subsystems for seeding equipment consistent with program objectives and in consultation with more senior engineers as necessary to support product launch.
Collaborate with the engineering team to coordinate interrelated design and assure project completion following established design process.
Collaborate with more senior engineers in coordinating the design review and DFM/DFA processes to ensure manufacturing understanding and incorporate manufacturing feedback into successful industrialization of the completed design.
Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process, ensuring designs are cost effective, manufacturable, and meet quality targets.
Support prototype builds and actively engage in field operations related to the specific design.
In consultation with more senior engineers, the individual in this position is expected to develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and documentation to be used by both internal and external customers.
The annual salary for this role is $71,250 CAD – $+5,000 CAD (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, an Agricultural Engineering Degree with a focus in heavy machinery design may be considered.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Engineering Design
