Permanent Full Time
Monday – Friday Rosters - 76 hours per fortnight, +-day fortnight
$43.21- $47.05 p/hr + Overtime (LGIA Stream C C10AR – C7AR $83,3+3 to $+2,+76 per year depending on qualifications and experience, inclusive of Site Allowance, Tool Allowance and 10% AR incentive payment*)
$3,000 attraction payment upon successful completion of probationary period
$500 retention payment every 6 months from successful completion of probationary period

Council is currently recruiting for qualified Mechanics to undertake repairs, servicing and maintenance on a wide range of Council plant, including earthmoving equipment, road trucks, landscape maintenance plant, and light vehicles.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic and equivalent demonstrated experience.
Experience working on light and heavy vehicles and civil construction plant - fault finding, repairing, testing, modifications, and maintenance.
Safety First Attitude
Ability to work together with others to achieve common goals both within immediate team and teams across Council.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments, technology, work priorities and organisational needs.

Application Criteria

Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (and any other tickets/certificates relevant)
Experience working on light and heavy vehicles, and civil construction plant - fault finding, auto electrical, repairing overhaul, testing, modifications, tyres and servicing.
Possess a safe work attitude
