Job Title: Mechanic
The Fleet and Logistics Unit at Sutherland Shire Council plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our diverse fleet assets. We are seeking skilled individuals who are passionate about mechanics and committed to delivering quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement scheduled servicing and conduct inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of our vehicles.
Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure timely delivery of services.
Diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems, working in alignment with manufacturer guidelines and council policies.
Collaborate with the team to achieve strategic objectives and foster a supportive work environment.
Requirements:
Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant) and MVRIA Mechanic's license.
At least one year of post-trade experience in servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.
Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and possess a Class HR Drivers license, RMS Vehicle Examiners License (Heavy Vehicles), and experience with heavy vehicle systems.
