Duties
Prepare and assemble meals according to specified recipes, dietary guidelines, and portion sizes.
Plan menus that accommodate various dietary needs and preferences, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
Handle food with care, following strict food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
Use knife skills and culinary techniques to chop, slice, dice, and prepare ingredients efficiently.
Cook a variety of dishes using different methods such as baking, sautéing, boiling, and grilling.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment sanitation and proper storage of ingredients.
Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed.
Serve meals in a timely manner while maintaining presentation standards.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; communicate needs for restocking to ensure continuous operation.
Follow all food handling regulations and safety procedures diligently to uphold health standards.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service.
Experience
Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
Experience working in a food industry setting such as restaurants or catering services is preferred.
Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety practices.
Knowledge of menu planning tailored to dietary restrictions or specific nutritional goals is a plus.
Familiarity with food handling regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety procedures is essential.
Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and food service are required to succeed in this role.
