About the role:

As part of the Workforce Management Directorate within the People and Culture Division, the Manager, Executives and Leadership is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of the department’s executive and leadership function, across schools, pre-schools and corporate.

The department operates a large workforce across its schools and preschools, nearly 30 000 people. This workforce has high volumes of recruitment with over 500 ongoing teacher roles advertised and more than 5000 temporary teachers offered contracts each year. Additionally, around 800 leadership roles and 600 ancillary roles are advertised every year.

This role leads a dedicated specialist team that is responsible for providing best practice advice on executive employment, contracts and remuneration for leaders across schools, pre-schools and corporate. Additionally the team is responsible for managing succession planning and talent management across the department, ensuring a high quality, ready pool of leaders. The team works closely with senior leaders including the Senior Executive Group, Education Directors and Human Resources Business Partners to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved.

Qualifications:

Essential: Nil

Desirable: A tertiary qualification relevant to Human Resources or equivalent experience.

Special conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:

MAS3 $127,85+ per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
