Canadian Adventure Charters (CAC , in strategic partnership with RedHawk Survival Training Institute Inc, is recruiting an exceptional team of world-class instructors to deliver Canada's next generation of professional maritime, expedition, survival, and remote operations training.

Our instructors will prepare commercial mariners, expedition leaders, government agencies, offshore industries, first responders, guides, researchers, and private expedition teams to safely operate in some of the world's most demanding marine and wilderness environments—from the rugged coastlines of Newfoundland and Labrador to the Canadian Arctic, Northwest Passage, Greenland, and Antarctica.

This is not a conventional classroom position.

We are seeking professionals who have spent their careers operating, leading, teaching, and surviving in remote environments where experience, sound judgment, and leadership save lives.

CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Transport Canada Maritime Instructor

Qualified instructors to deliver Transport Canada-approved curriculum, including:

Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP)
Small Domestic Vessel Basic Safety (SDV-BS)
Restricted Operator Certificate – Maritime (ROC-M)
Instructors will deliver classroom instruction, practical exercises, vessel operations training, emergency response simulations, and operational mentoring while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.

Senior Survival Training Instructor

Lead the development and delivery of advanced survival training programs covering:

Basic Marine Survival
Advanced Marine Survival
Remote Wilderness Survival
Alpine Operations
Arctic Survival
Antarctic Survival
Expedition Leadership
Remote Camp Operations
Wildlife Awareness
Predator Safety & Protection
Animal Harvesting
Expedition Food Sustainability
Remote Logistics
Emergency Response
Search & Rescue Support
Expedition Risk Management
Training emphasizes practical, real-world experience that extends well beyond conventional marine certification programs.

Instructor Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

Deliver world-class classroom and field instruction
Teach practical skills in realistic operational environments
Develop and continually improve curriculum and training materials
Mentor students through challenging practical exercises
Conduct emergency response and survival simulations
Lead remote field exercises on offshore islands
Participate in expedition training aboard Polar Class vessels
Maintain compliance with Transport Canada and applicable industry standards
Support curriculum innovation and new program development
Represent RedHawk Survival Training Institute and Canadian Adventure Charters with the highest level of professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

Minimum ten (10) years of operational experience in maritime, wilderness, expedition, military, offshore, commercial marine, search and rescue, scientific research, or comparable remote field operations
Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years' experience developing accredited training programs and serving as a senior or master instructor for government, industry, military, insurance-recognized, or accredited educational organizations
Extensive operational experience working in remote marine and wilderness environments
Strong technical knowledge and exceptional written communication skills
Outstanding classroom presentation and instructional abilities
Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and professionalism under demanding operational conditions
Ability to mentor adult learners in both classroom and field environments

Expedition Deployment Requirements

Successful instructors must be capable of working in challenging and remote environments, including:

Offshore islands throughout Newfoundland and Labrador
One (1) to two (2) week remote instructor rotations
Eight (8) to ten (10) week deployments aboard Canadian Adventure Charters' Polar Class expedition icebreaker during Arctic and Antarctic expeditions
Extended travel within Newfoundland and Labrador, the Canadian Arctic, the Northwest Passage, Greenland, and Antarctica

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
