Job Description
Hapuku Fisheries Pty Ltd is a commercial tuna fishing company located in Southport QLD, AUSTRALIA.
We have an opportunity for a fulltime marine mechanic/engineer to take care of the the day to day maintenance of our vessels.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
Liaising with shore manager and Skippers
Conduct maintenance and preventative maintenance to all systems
Check, test and maintain automatic controls and alarm systems
Diagnose engine and machinery problems, and carry out repairs where required
Conduct and monitor engine oil testing requirements
Safety Equipment maintenance
Survey requirements as directed by AMSA
Maintain records of engineering activities including services
Reporting of maintenance, repairs, and ongoing issues on a weekly basis
Preparing vessel for sea
Complying with WHS
Occasional travel to other ports
The successful candidate will be dedicated, self-motivated and able to work flexible hours depending on the vessel schedules. Two years' experience and/or formal qualifications required. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate.
