Job Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for assembling and testing manufactured goods before they are released. They ensure products are free of defects or others issues and are frequently interacting with manufacturing and Quality Control/Assurance personnel.
Job Responsibilities
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with operating procedures
• Assembling and testing manufactured products prior to being shipped to the customer
• Build mechanical and electronic assemblies and finished goods
• Perform detailed testing on all products
• Print product serialization labels
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
• Package finished goods
• Troubleshoot, service and repair rental units and RMA products
• Document testing of all products in production logs
• Create NCR’s for products that fail tests
• Identify and report any failure trends to Production Supervisor
• Maintain the production area in a neat and clean manner
• Maintain all tools in a clean manner and return to proper storage area when build is finished
• Ensure all paperwork assigned is completed i.e. signing out scrap, Run Tracking Forms
• Assist engineering in building and testing prototypes, new products or specialty items
• Maintain, repair and calibrate production equipment to ensure quality production
• Assist with inventory control / kitting when required
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and protocols for health and safety
• Interpreting technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, or other verbal or written instructions
Skills & Requirements
• Diploma in electronics engineering (Preferred)
• ASET registered (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production environment
• High attention to detail
• Experience in an electro-mechanical production assembly would be an asset
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that may be small
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
• Team player and able to work independently
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs (as required)
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of multi-departmental and cross-functional teams
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
