Job Description
Manufacturing Manager – Lead Machinist
Edmonton, AB
We are a growing CNC machining company looking for a strong Manufacturing Manager to lead our shop floor and drive execution of our vision.
This role is responsible for translating company direction into daily action by aligning people, production, and priorities. You will lead from the floor, develop your team, and ensure operations are moving in the right direction every day.
This is not a desk role. The right person will be on the floor daily, working with machinists, reinforcing expectations, and driving performance through clear leadership and accountability.
Responsibilities
Drive execution of company vision through daily production activities
Align shop floor operations with management priorities and production targets
Lead, manage, and develop machinists, operators, and apprentices
Set clear expectations and ensure the team understands what success looks like each day
Hold the team accountable to production, quality, and efficiency standards
Coordinate closely with programming and quality to keep jobs on track
Organize jobs, setups, and schedules to ensure smooth flow through the shop
Identify gaps, remove bottlenecks, and maintain momentum across all machines
Reinforce structure, communication, and discipline on the shop floor
Build a high-performance culture focused on ownership and continuous improvement
Requirements
10+ years machining experience
Strong experience with CNC lathes and mills
Experience with Mazak, Fanuc, or Haas controls
Proven leadership in a machine shop environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop
