Manufacturing Finance/ Cost Controller
Job Description
• Financial Planning &
• Analysis
• Prepare and monitor annual operating budgets covering credit days, net landing price, expenses, inventory, capacity utilization, and headcount.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly variance analysis (BvA) and prepare management dashboards to highlight key operational and financial insights.
• Drive monthly operations review meetings, providing actionable recommendations to align with organizational objectives.
• Cost Management &
• Efficiency
• Monitor plant and operational expenses closely; identify and drive cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Evaluate yield performance Standard vs. Actual and update standards periodically to reflect operational realities.
• Conduct product costing, monitor BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing, and ensure timely updates for accuracy.
• Partner with the procurement team to identify the “Right Vendor at the Right Price,” ensuring sustainable sourcing and cost control.
• Capital Expenditure &
• Investment Evaluation
• Evaluate and monitor capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals for effectiveness, ROI, and alignment with strategic priorities.
• Assess financial viability of new projects, product lines, and expansion initiatives, providing decision support to leadership.
• Plant Performance &
• Productivity Monitoring
• Monitor capacity utilization across production lines and identify bottlenecks for improvement.
• Assess on-roll and off-roll manpower productivity, establish benchmarks, and support plant management in workforce optimization.
• Track operational KPIs including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), efficiency, and downtime analysis.
• Governance, Compliance &
• Controls
• Ensure strong internal controls across plant operations and financial reporting in line with corporate governance policies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability.
• Implement risk management practices to mitigate operational and financial risks.
• Government Incentives &
• Policy Management
• Identify and evaluate eligibility for government incentive schemes (e.g., Production Linked Incentive – PLI, subsidies, tax incentives, and industry-specific grants).
• Ensure timely application, documentation, and compliance to maximize benefits.
• Monitor changes in government policies and communicate potential financial impacts to management.
• Liaise with external agencies, consultants, and government authorities for smooth execution of incentive-related processes.
• Business Partnering &
• Strategic Support
• Act as a key finance partner to Plant Operations, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams for strategic decision-making.
• Provide insights to improve profitability, working capital management, and overall operational excellence.
• Support cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
Preferred candidate profile
• Qualification: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) with strong manufacturing finance & cost accounting background.
• Experience: 3–5 years, including 1–2 years in plant controlling/operations finance.
• Skills: Product costing, BOM/yield analysis, budgeting, CapEx evaluation, government incentive schemes (PLI), SAP, Excel/Power BI.
• Traits: Strong analytical ability, business partnering mindset, leadership skills, integrity, and capability to drive cost optimization & operational excellence.
