About the role
We are seeking an experienced Car Wash Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our thriving car wash facility in the heart of South Melbourne. As the Car Wash Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of car wash attendants, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service. This is a full-time position based at our South Melbourne location.
What you'll be doing
1. Maintaining records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with company policies.
2. Assisting basic bookkeeping, invoice dealership, and basic administrative documentation.
3. Contributing to process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Managing daily car wash operations to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
5. Supervising and training staff in car washing, interior & exterior detailing, paint protection, and ceramic coating.
6. Allocating daily tasks and ensuring team productivity.
7. Handling customer enquiries, bookings, and service recommendations.
8. Ensuring all detailing procedures meet company standards, including polishing, waxing, paint correction, and ceramic coating applications.
9. Managing inventory of chemicals, detailing products, and equipment.
10. Ensuring proper use and maintenance of all detailing tools and machines (buffers, polishers, steamers, pressure washers).
11. Complying with WHS procedures and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
12. Communicate with suppliers, dealership, and external service providers as required.
13. Supporting management with scheduling, reporting, and operational improvements.
The Applicant
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. A relevant qualification in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent.
2. Experience in the car wash and detailing industry, including knowledge of interior/exterior detailing, paint protection, and ceramic coating.
3. At least 1 year of full-time experience in a managerial or supervisory role (car wash industry preferred).
4. Strong leadership, organisational, and multitasking abilities.
5. Good communication and customer service skills.
6. Ability to operate and train staff in the use of detailing tools and machines.
7. Basic administrative and record-keeping skills (Microsoft Office; MYOB knowledge is an advantage).
8. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive attitude.
10. Understanding of WHS and safe chemical-handling procedures.
11. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
