Job Description
POSITION: Campus Maintenance and Landscaping
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
· Minimum of one year grounds or maintenance experience preferred.
· Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
· Knowledge of grounds/building maintenance
· Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
· Ability to operate landscaping equipment and maintain equipment
· Ability to properly handle related supplies
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain a campus grounds/facilities maintenance schedule that will include maintenance of grass, plants, shrubs and sidewalk areas and building.
Keep school buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas neat and clean.
Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and organic materials.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of related supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
Report repair needs to direct supervisor.
Perform approved repairs and maintenance related to grounds maintenance
Follow established procedures for locking, checking and safeguarding equipment and facilities.
Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health and safety and reports any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
Assist in the attainment of district goals by ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
· Lifts/carries 30 pounds frequently, 40-50 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. Pushing/pulling 10-40 pounds sporadically. Climb ladders, work in high places, work in cramped quarters and distinguish primary colors. Works in inclement weather. Demanding physical conditions. Must be able to work with potentially hazardous materials in a safe manner and safely perform required duties in potentially hazardous environments.
