Position: M a i n t e n a n c e Wo r k e r

Status: Full-Time

Days:

Monday to Friday

Monday Thursday: 6:30am to 3:30pm
Tuesday, Wednesday Friday: 7:00am to 4:00pm
Service: M a i n t e n a n c e

I m m e d i a t e Supervisor: Director of Maintenance

P u r p o s e of t h e position:

In compliance with health and safety rules, the Maintenance Worker performs various work related to the upkeep and

maintenance of the building. This will include, among other things, painting, plastering, ceramic installation, carpentry

work, changing of light switches, plugs, breakers, faucets, drainpipes, or other various construction repairs, etc.

As part of his/her duties, he/she will be required to move furniture or lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs. He/she also ensures the

management of waste and recycling of the residence. To carry out his/her duties, he/she will be required to lift loads or

drive a n all-terrain vehicle or tractor.

Specifically, the responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Carry out various renovations and minor repairs to residents' apartments and common areas of the residence;
Ensure that vacant apartments are clean, all electrical plugs and switches are functional and are in excellent condition b e f o r e t h e next rental;
Analyze the work to be done, determine the necessary equipment to order/purchase and organize its tasks to meet deadlines;
Notify your manager of items and materials to be ordered;
Perform preventive maintenance of the residence's heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment;
Respond to emergencies and calls for services;
Clear hallways and access doors of items that may be cumbersome and affect the safety of residents;
At all times, respect occupational health and safety rules;
Keep parking spaces, grounds and flower beds clean;
In winter, clear snow and salt the sidewalks of the entrances;
In summer, ensure the lawn and flowers are maintained;
At al times, respect safety rules, intervene or inform your manager if elements seem to contravene WHMIS standards;
Perform any other duties related to his/her duties and at the request of his/her immediate supervisor.
The person must:

Be in very good physical shape.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e w o r k is well d o n e .

Excellent organizational skills.
Multitasking and priority management.

Ability to manage and resolve emergencies.
Proactivity and autonomy.

Be comfortable interacting with elderly clientele.
Must be fluently bilingual.

Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s :

Occupational Health and Safety Training.

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in building maintenance (an asset).

Must have a minimum of 5-years of hands-on experience in the following work (painting, electricity, carpentry,p l u m b i n g .
H o l d s a valid driver's l i c e n s e .
