Job Description
Should be able to carry out the PM and CM of Ring main units such as check/repair any oil leak for switching units, oil indicating gauges, topping up oil, replacement of sealing gaskets, oil testing.

• Understand comply with QMS/EHSMS relevant requirements, objectives and Quality/EHS Policy.
• Perform work in the ways that protect environment and provide a safe and healthy workplace all workers. Prevent workplace injuries, ill health, and incidents to reach our goal of Zero harm to people, property and environment.
• Keep aware of department risk opportunities and affectively handling those for continual improvement.
• Should have hands on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of bulk oil circuit breakers, MOCB, SF6 circuit breakers and vacuum circuit breakers.
• Should be able to rectify and trouble shoot the defects in any type of breakers.
• Should be able to carry out the complete testing of the breakers such as timing test, vacuum integrity test in vacuum circuit breakers, contact resistance test, simulate and check gas pressure, contact wear measurement, perform all necessary tests for C/Bs earth switches, vacuum measurement (SF6 Pressure measurement and refilling if required).
• Should have hands on experience in the rectification work of circuit breakers such as replacement of damaged/ defective circuit breaker by fitting new breaker in the old cubicle by making required modifications.
• Should be able to provide emergency breakdown work for replacement or repair of breakers.
• Should have hands on experience in the preventive maintenance of all types and makes of battery chargers and UPS.
• Should be proficient in the corrective maintenance of battery chargers and UPS which includes locating and identifying the faults and make necessary repair to trouble shoot the fault. Should be able to identify the faults in the electronics cards, make repair by replacement of faulty components of the cards.
• Should have the knowledge of testing of the battery charger and the UPS.
• Shall be responsible for other panels which have electronic cards.
• Should have hands on experience in the compete field services including preventive, corrective and breakdown, testing, inspection, servicing and repair of generator and EHV power transformers, distribution transformers, dry type transformers and rectifier transformers, neutral grounding resistors.
• Should be able to independently carry out the inspection and testing of tap changers, inspect on load and off load changer parts and replace any defective parts.
• Perform PM of fan motors and oil pumps, test and calibrate temperature indicators, bucholz relays, sudden pressure relays, pressure relief device, online gas monitoring system etc.
• Hands on experience in the complete testing of the transformer such as turns ratio test, winding resistance, insulation power factor test of windings and bushings, IR and PI of windings, winding excitation currents suing doble test equipment, testing of buchholz relays function, testing of insulating oil, testing of BCTs.
• Should be able to erect, test and commission oil filled transformers up to and including 133/266 MVA capacity, including installation, assembly, oil filling and filtration, testing, cable and bus duct connection, testing of interlock, alarm and protection.
