IT Hardware & Networking Overview

IT Hardware & Networking involves installing, managing, and maintaining computer systems, physical devices, and network infrastructure to ensure smooth communication and operations within an organization.

1. IT Hardware

What it includes
• Desktops, laptops, servers
• Printers, scanners, storage devices
• Motherboards, RAM, hard drives
• Peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitors)

Key Responsibilities
• Installing and configuring computer systems
• Troubleshooting hardware issues
• Replacing faulty components
• Managing inventory of IT equipment
• Performing system upgrades and maintenance

2. Networking
What it includes
• LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network)
• Routers, switches, firewalls
• IP addressing, DNS, DHCP
• Wired and wireless networks

Key Responsibilities
• Setting up and maintaining network infrastructure
• Configuring routers and switches
• Monitoring network performance
• Ensuring network security
• Troubleshooting connectivity issues
