Qualifications
Preference will be given to a Registered Nurse, currently licensed and in good standing with the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL)
Some travel required throughout the state of Utah
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work
Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel may be required

As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Long Term Care Surveyor will use a software assisted onsite survey process to ensure certified nursing homes meet the requirements for participation in Medicare and/or Medicaid programs
Surveys are conducted as unannounced recertification inspections or in response to complaint allegations and provide an in-depth review of care through observation of the quality of care and quality of life of individuals residing in nursing homes
Surveyors will interview residents and/or resident representatives, facility staff, and medical providers, as well as review relevant health records
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, and other office procedures and terminology
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services

K nowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Licensing, is seeking a quality conscious registered nurse to serve as a Long Term Care Surveyor (Registered Nurse), to work with other health professionals to conduct surveys of Medicare and/or Medicaid certified nursing homes.
As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Long Term Care Surveyor will use a software assisted onsite survey process to ensure certified nursing homes meet the requirements for participation in Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.
Surveys are conducted as unannounced recertification inspections or in response to complaint allegations and provide an in-depth review of care through observation of the quality of care and quality of life of individuals residing in nursing homes. Surveyors will interview residents and/or resident representatives, facility staff, and medical providers, as well as review relevant health records. The survey process has a strong emphasis on resident outcomes and the provision of services to assure quality of care for vulnerable populations.
PREFERENCES
