Logistics Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Onsite DOT Delivery Driver to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery, pick-up, and relocation of customer packages and mail, meeting customer requirements while adhering to federal DOT regulations.

This role involves maintaining delivery safety standards and requires strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring the safe and efficient delivery, pick-up, and relocation of customer packages and mail
Maintaining delivery safety standards
Providing strong customer service and addressing customer needs promptly
Loading and securing packages/mail in the delivery vehicle (boxed van/truck)
Picking up mail and packages from customer locations and delivering them to the correct delivery points
DOT Compliance:

Maintaining log books in accordance with DOT regulations (electronic or manual)
Performing pre and post-trip reviews to ensure the vehicle is safe, clean, and compliant with all DOT and state laws
Participating in safety programs to ensure adherence to safety standards
Customer Service and Communication:

Providing exceptional customer service and addressing customer needs promptly
Communicating effectively with customers and internal teams
Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
Ensuring accurate processing and signing of paperwork
Vehicle and Equipment Operation:

Operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks, as needed
Handling oversized and overweight packages
Following all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures
Additional Duties:

Assisting with loading and off-loading trucks as required
Assisting in the training of new delivery drivers on current routes
Evaluating and properly handling HAZMAT, perishable, and standard packages
Ensuring the correct handling and transportation of perishables, including refrigeration storage and delivery
Maintaining the ability to transport items in compliance with DOT requirements
Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Safe driving record and history
Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations
Must maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with company policy
Pass a road test
Valid and current medical card is required
Minimum age of 20 years, with a valid driver's license in the state of residence
High school diploma or equivalent education
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) as required by state law
Ability to read maps and use GPS (electronic or traditional)
Training related to handling, identifying, and distributing special materials (e.g., HAZMAT, perishables)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to physically handle oversized and overweight packages
Identify at-risk behaviors and make quick corrections as needed
Strong customer service, presentation, and communication skills
Familiarity with smartphones/tablets and hand-held electronic technology
Adequate reading and math skills and ability to write legibly
May be required to be certified in the operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, stair climber)
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands:

Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment
Lifting and carrying mail/packages weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to work independently while interpreting and applying complex material, data, and instructions
Safety Considerations:

Strict adherence to safety protocols is required to avoid injuries when lifting or moving packages
The driver must follow all road safety rules and regulations
